Nicole Calder-Steele

Senior Water Resource Scientist
Nicole is a water science professional focused on improving understanding of freshwater and addressing resource management challenges.
Prior to joining Aqualinc, Nicole worked for nine years at Environment Canterbury in groundwater science and organisational governance. Nicole has experience in catchment characterisation and current state assessment, resource assessment, and assessing land-use impacts on groundwater and surface waters. She has worked alongside stakeholders across a range of resource management issues to successfully identify and resolve challenges and navigate the regulatory system.
Nicole has a strong understanding of the Resource Management Act, resource consenting, planning processes, the regulatory framework, and the application thereof. Nicole is an accredited Hearing Commissioner.
